World Communications Day

World Communications Day is a celebration of global social communications and was born out of the Second Vatican Council in 1963 ( Inter Mirifica). It is celebrated in most countries, on the recommendation of the bishops of the world, on the Sunday before Pentecost.

The Pope sends a message for World Communications Day that is traditionally published in conjunction with the Memorial of St. Francis de Sales, patron of writers (January 24).
