Embryo Bill - statement from Archbishop Vincent Nichols

The Most Reverend Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Birmingham, said today, Tuesday 25 March: “While we have yet to see the exact details this is welcome news that the Prime Minister has recognised the importance of conscience and the principle of a free vote on key issues.”

Archbishop Nichols added: “This matters greatly not only to Catholics but also to people of other faiths and those who have clear ethical concerns."
