Libya in Transition

08/09/2011 9:00 am

Libya uprising

With Colonel Qadhaffi believed to be hiding in the south, Dr Harry Hagopian offers his analysis of Libya in transition looking at the key figures in the National Transitional Council.

Dr Hagopian also updates us on the bloodletting in Syria and questions whether President Bashar al-Assad's frequently promised reforms would make a difference to the protesters at this stage.

With Awareness Sunday marking the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on the US, we also discuss the atrocity in context in this Middle East Analysis.

Dr Hagopian is an international lawyer and consultant to the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales on the Middle East. He's also a former Assistant General Secretary of the Middle East Council of Churches.
