Pope Benedict XVI made an historic Apostolic Journey to Lebanon from 14 - 16 September 2012. The Holy Father said his three-day pilgrimage was "under the sign of peace" for the whole region. In Beirut, the Pope signed and published his Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation on the Middle East - a document born from an international meeting of Bishops in Rome convened to discuss the region back in 2010. Pope Benedict met with young people, dignitaries, diplomats and members of government as well as religious leaders and representatives from the world of culture.
