Stef Reid - GB Paralympic long jumper and sprinter

As the greatest-ever Paralympic Games gets under way in London, we look back at an inspiring address given by Paralympian Stefanie Reid at the Flame Catholic youth event.

Stef, a Paralympic long jumper and sprinter, is a real medal hope for the 2012 Games.

A tragic accident in her teenage years didn't prevent her from following her dream to become a professional athlete. She put her life in God’s hands:

“God is not limited by things like physical disabilities, or social stigmas - things that we may see as limitations," she said before encouraging the 8,500 young people to engage with the Olympics and Paralympics. "Get involved and experience the Games first-hand. It is my hope for you, that when you look at your life, what you will see are endless possibilities, and that you will have the courage and determination to pursue them.”
